This week on The Gralien Report, as we kick things off we look at some of our favorite things about the arrival of Autumn, which officially began on September 22nd of this year. In keeping with the myth and ancestral themes that are often appended to the season, we look at a few “eerie” items in the news, including a psychological study that looks at the darker side of the human psyche. What does this have to do with one particularly controversial Florentine political philosopher of days past?

Then in hour two, after sharing a few listener emails (and one remarkable synchronicity involving a message in a bottle story), we turn our attention to another eerie subject very in keeping with the theme of the season: the odd story of West Viriginia’s “Mothman,” a strange entity that, according to modern folklore of the Ohio River Valley, was said to have been seen throughout the late 1960s. During a recent trip to the area, Micah and his cohorts Jason Pentrail and James Waldo stopped by Point Pleasant, the famous “home” of the creature… but is this odd and eerie story all it’s been made out to be over the years? We look at this, and much more on this week’s edition of The Gralien Report.
