This week on The Gralien Report, after delving into a bit of tech news, we turn our attention to a unique email exchange Micah received in relation to a large, triangular-shaped unidentified flying object seen over his hometown back in 1988, which suggests the possibility that it was observed by more than one individual at the time. We then compare the incident with other notable sightings of similar craft, and how popular skeptical interpretations of such cases, rather than looking at the idea of experimental or secret aircraft, often highlight a dismissive or “denialist” attitude toward such plausible explanations.

This leads us to a retrospective look at one of the most famous UFO critics of the last century: Phillip J. Klass, whose disdain for Ufology even came to the attention of the FBI on a few occasions. Then on the subject of UFOs and skepticism, we are joined by Dr. Robert E. Bartholomew, whose background in sociology and “hopeful skepticism” presents a balanced, rational approach to understanding the human side of the unexplained, in ways that incorporate science and critical thinking.
