  1. Hooray, our goats finally made it to the Gralien Report!!

    A variety of agencies and landowners have been utilizing goats for brush control all around the greater Bay Area for, sheesh, probably around twenty years now. You’ll be stuck on 24 waiting to get into the Caldecott Tunnel or cruising down 580 when you’ll see 50-60 goats surround by a temporary fence keeping them in about a quarter of an acre. This is very high goat density which makes them super visible.

    The goats eat everything down to the ground and up as far as they can reach so there’s nothing to burn and you don’t need to bring in heavy equipment which can be dangerous and cause a lot of erosion on already steep and unstable hillsides. It’s a great solution.

    Years ago i worked for a couple from Chicago, who’s numerous family members loved coming to SF and checking out all the sights – Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, Muir Woods, the Golden Gate Bridge, etc. It was amazing how many people said their favorite sight was the grazing urban goats!
